MAKAYLA DUKES commands the offense for Blazers win

Recap: Kingstree Blazers vs. Lee Central Stallions

The Kingstree Blazers waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with five straight wins but they left with six. They walked away with a 30-23 win over Lee Central. That's another feather in the cap for Kingstree, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.

Kingstree's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but MAKAYLA DUKES led the charge by scoring 12 points along with eight steals and seven assists. DUKES is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of NAYDIA SHAW, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.

Mylasia Dennis and Hannah Reames certainly did their best on Tuesday to try and avoid the loss. Dennis scored ten points along with eight rebounds, while Reames scored eight points along with nine rebounds and two blocks. Reames has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last three times she's played.

Kingstree's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-3. As for Lee Central, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kingstree will take on Marion at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in South Carolina (Marion is ranked 133rd, while Kingstree is ranked 112th). As for Lee Central, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Mullins at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
