Basketball Recap: Norfolk Academy Takes a Loss

Norfolk Academy lost against Norfolk Christian back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Norfolk Academy Bulldogs had to suffer through a 77-16 loss at the hands of the Norfolk Christian Ambassadors. The Bulldogs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 56-5.

Lauren Harvey was Norfolk Academy's leading scorer, having posted five points. Allie Tyszko took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with three assists.

Leading Norfolk Christian to victory were Justice Brown-Jones and Keira Kilkenny. Brown-Jones dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds, while Kilkenny went 7 of 11 from beyond the arc en route to 25 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Brianna Norman, who went 5 for 7 on her way to 14 points.

Norfolk Academy is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-8. As for Norfolk Christian, their win was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-2.

Norfolk Academy has already played their next matchup (against Cape Henry Collegiate), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Norfolk Christian will square off against Catholic at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Catholic has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 201 points over their last three contests.
