Basketball Game Preview: Seventy-First Falcons vs. Terry Sanford Bulldogs

The Seventy-First Falcons and the Terry Sanford Bulldogs will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Seventy-First is headed into the game having just posted their closest win since February 20th on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Westover 49-47.

Meanwhile, Terry Sanford put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They breezed by Cape Fear to the tune of 62-14. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 23 points or more this season.

Seventy-First better keep an eye on Ameya Brown. She was instrumental in Terry Sanford's win, going 7 for 16 on her way to 18 points in addition to seven boards and four steals. The contest was Brown's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Amya Harrington, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 boards.

Terry Sanford smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 38 consecutive games dating back to last season.

Terry Sanford's win was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-0. As for Seventy-First, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Seventy-First ended up a good deal behind Terry Sanford when the teams last played back in February of 2022, losing 69-50. Can Seventy-First avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
