Basketball Recap: Graci Morlan and Allison Rushton Secure Win for Holly

Holly's game back in December of 2024 was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They took down the Wiley Panthers 53-34. That looming 53-34 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Wildcats yet this season.

Holly was led to victory by Allison Rushton and Graci Morlan. Rushton almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds, while Morlan went 7 for 12 en route to 16 points and seven boards. The dominant performance gave Morlan a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Idaly Idaly, who posted eight points along with five boards and five steals.

Holly smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Wiley lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Lexie Lubbers, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten rebounds. Lubbers is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down ten or more in the last three games she's played. Kynlee Dechant also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

The win got Holly back to even at 3-3. As for Wiley, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Holly didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 48-37 defeat against Crowley County on the 14th. As for Wiley, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 57-26 loss against Eads on the 16th.
