Volleyball Recap: Newberry Makes It Four in a Row at Home

It's playoff time, and Newberry had no trouble coming through when it counted. Everything went their way against Palatka on Tuesday as they made off with a 3-0 victory. This was a revenge game for Newberry: when they faced off against Palatka back in September, they had to take a 3-2 defeat.

Newberry not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Palatka between 14 and 17 points across their sets. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-17, 25-14.

Carly Myers paced Newberry's offense, picking up 14 kills. Myers got some help from Kinsley Harvey and her 28 assists. Meadow Moses controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Several Panthers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Anslee Wells, who had eight digs and seven assists. Hannah Faulkner was another key player, getting eight digs and two aces.

Newberry pushed their record up to 18-8 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Palatka, their loss dropped their record down to 12-15.

Newberry didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Keystone Heights on the 16th. Palatka does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
