Basketball Game Preview: Pikesville Panthers vs. Forest Park Foresters

The Pikesville Panthers will challenge the Forest Park Foresters on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Pikesville is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They breezed past Patterson Mill to the tune of 66-29. Winning may never get old, but the Panthers sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Pikesville relied on the efforts of NyJae Malik-El, who shot 64% from the field on her way to 20 points along with eight steals and six assists, and Mariah Jones-Bey, who went 6-for-10 en route to 13 points in addition to seven assists and seven boards. Jones-Bey is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least three every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Maya Chase, who went 5-for-9 to rack up 12 points along with five rebounds and three steals.

Meanwhile, Forest Park blew past Chesapeake Math & IT Academy South, posting a 67-21 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Foresters.

Pikesville pushed their record up to 22-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 33.8 points. As for Forest Park, their win bumped their record up to 21-5.

Pikesville barely slipped by Forest Park when the teams last played back in March of 2024, winning 42-41. Will Pikesville repeat their success, or does Forest Park have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
