Basketball Game Preview: Madison Southern Eagles vs. South Oldham Dragons

The Madison Southern Eagles will challenge the South Oldham Dragons at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Madison Southern took a loss when they played away from home two weeks ago, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed last Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 79-64 win over Bluegrass United. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 107th, while the Bluehawks are ranked 248th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, South Oldham entered their tilt with DeSales on Wednesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They breezed past the Colts to the tune of 89-44. The Dragons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten contests by 24 points or more this season.

South Oldham's victory was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 20-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 80.6 points over those games. As for Madison Southern, their win bumped their record up to 10-11.
