Baseball Game Preview: Heritage Timberwolves vs. Mountain View Thunder

For the second straight game, Heritage will face off against Mountain View. The Timberwolves will venture away from home to face off against the Thunder at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Heritage has given up an average of 8.5 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Heritage's last matchup with Mountain View could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's match on Tuesday. The Timberwolves came up short against the Thunder, falling 15-1. The Timberwolves have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

For Mountain View's part, Lucas Wolfley was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Wolfley has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple marked the first that he hit this season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Nick Wilcox, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 4-for-5. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Taylor, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

Mountain View always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The victory made it two in a row for Mountain View and bumps their season record up to 4-8. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Heritage, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-8.
