Baseball Game Preview: St. Anthony Saints vs. Glenn Eagles

The St. Anthony Saints will challenge the Glenn Eagles at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. The last three games St. Anthony has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

St. Anthony blew Sage Hill out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Wednesday Sage Hill got their revenge. St. Anthony fell just short of Sage Hill by a score of 11-9. Even though they lost, the Saints' still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.4 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

Luke DeGiorgio and Matthew James did some serious damage despite the final result: DeGiorgio scored a run while going 2-for-3, while James scored two runs and stole three bases while going 1-for-2. Jason Glenn was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

Even though they lost, St. Anthony hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sage Hill struck out seven times.

Meanwhile, Glenn was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of Campbell Hall. That's two games in a row now that the Eagles have lost by exactly three runs.

Glenn saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Angel Aguilar, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Glenn's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for St. Anthony, they now have a losing record of 2-3.
