Recap: Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North Raiders vs. McAllen Bulldogs

The Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North Raiders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They were beaten by McAllen 67-31. Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North has not had much luck with McAllen recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Isaac Salinas, who scored seven points.

Leading McAllen to victory were D'aundre Canada and Mario Villegas. Canada scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and five assists, while Villegas scored 23 points along with five steals. Villegas has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. Dylan Benavidez was another key contributor, scoring ten points.

Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North's loss dropped their record down to 8-14. As for McAllen, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 18-8.

Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North will head out on the road to square off against Pioneer at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Pioneer will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. McAllen will take on McAllen Memorial at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. McAllen Memorial knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven matches -- so hopefully McAllen likes a good challenge.
