Soccer Game Preview: Silsbee vs. Lumberton

Silsbee is on a four-game streak of home wins, while Lumberton is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Silsbee Tigers will host the Lumberton Raiders at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty goal totals in their previous games.

It was a proper cat-fight when Silsbee faced off against Bridge City on Tuesday. Silsbee put the hurt on Bridge City with a sharp 4-1 win. Considering the Tigers have won six contests by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Lumberton played against Jasper on Friday and won via forfeit.

Silsbee's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-4. As for Lumberton, their win bumped their record up to 9-3.

Silsbee might still be hurting after the 8-1 defeat they got from Lumberton in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. That match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Silsbee was down 5-1.
