Brycen Rummel was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with a triple, two RBI, and a run. Hemmy O'Brien was another key contributor, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
On Rangely's side, Tristan Scott made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits (and only one walk). Scott was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing two bases.
In other batting news, Kobey Chism was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing four bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played.
Nucla's defeat dropped their record down to 6-10-1. As for Rangely, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-4-1.
The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Nucla beat Rangely by a score of 12-9 later that day.
