Volleyball Recap: Joplin Eagles vs. Carl Junction Bulldogs
Joplin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Carl Junction Bulldogs. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 3-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2023.
Joplin started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 24-26, 25-20, 25-15, 25-9.
Carl Junction was led to victory by Anna Lewis and Miley Kim. Lewis had six aces and five digs, while Kim had eight digs. Lewis is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in the last three games she's played dating back to last season.
Joplin's defeat dropped their record down to 5-23-1. As for Carl Junction, their record now sits at 22-6.
Joplin wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 3-0 win against Parkview on the 15th. As for Carl Junction, they will welcome West Plains at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
