Recap: Custer/Hysham/Melstone vs. Centerville Miners
Custer/Hysham/Melstone and the Centerville Miners squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but sadly Custer/Hysham/Melstone had to settle for second. Custer/Hysham/Melstone was dealt a 65-37 loss at the hands of Centerville. Custer/Hysham/Melstone's loss signaled the end of their ten-game winning streak.
It was another big night for Luke Kelley, who rushed for 300 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 12.5 yards per carry, and also threw for 167 yards and three touchdowns on only seven passes. Another player making a difference was Caden Olson, who gained 118 total yards and two touchdowns.
Custer/Hysham/Melstone's loss dropped their record down to 10-1. As for Centerville, they pushed their record up to 11-0 with that victory, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Custer/Hysham/Melstone does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Centerville will head out on the road to face off against Froid/Medicine Lake at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Froid/Medicine Lake has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 722 points over their last 11 games.
