West Jessamine took a six-run loss the last time they faced off against Garrard County, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. West Jessamine narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Garrard County 7-5. Surprisingly, this marked the fifth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.

The team relied heavily on Emerson Collins, who scored a run while going 3-for-4. She also put up a double, which was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was LuLu Blakeman, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Collins wasn't the only one working in the hit department: West Jessamine kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Garrard County only managed five hits.

West Jessamine now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Garrard County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Jessamine will challenge Henry Clay at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Garrard County, they will square off against Somerset at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
