Softball Recap: Cameron Dragons vs. Benton Cardinals
Cameron was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 9-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Benton Cardinals. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Dragons of the 7-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2023.
Lillian Klenk made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with a home run and a double. The team also got some help courtesy of Allyson Evans, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and a double.
Cameron's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-8. As for Benton, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season.
Cameron will face off against Marshall on Saturday. As for Benton, they will venture away from home to challenge Maryville at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Benton is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
