Baseball Game Preview: Capistrano Valley Cougars vs. Tesoro Titans

For the second straight game, Capistrano Valley will face off against Tesoro. The Cougars are taking a road trip to challenge the Titans at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. Capistrano Valley's pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so Tesoro's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Capistrano Valley took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Tesoro a 4-0 shutout.

Not much got past Broady Hinrichsen, who gave up just three hits to keep Tesoro off the board. Hinrichsen has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Capistrano Valley saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carter Micallef, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI. Talon Spencer also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Capistrano Valley now has a winning record of 8-7-1. As for Tesoro, their loss was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-11.
