It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Noxubee County had no problem doing just that on Friday. They breezed past Winona to the tune of 54-21. Noxubee County's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

One reason for the win was Noxubee County's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: BJ Payton, Darrius Burkhalter, and Jheremy Payton, who each picked up one sack apiece. BJ was another major factor on D, picking up a sack and making 12 total tackles.

Despite the loss, Winona still got an impressive performance from Landon Crawford, who rushed for 58 yards and one TD, and also threw for 119 yards and one touchdown.

Noxubee County's victory was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-3. The road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 36.0 points over those games. As for Winona, they moved to 9-5 with that loss, which also ended their seven-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Noxubee County will challenge Raleigh at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Lions' defense has only allowed 12.8 points per game this season, so the Tigers' offense will have their work cut out for them. Winona does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
