Basketball Recap: North Callaway Thunderbirds vs. Fayette Falcons

The North Callaway Thunderbirds had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.3 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Wednesday. They enjoyed a cozy 56-41 win over Fayette. That result was just more of the same for these two, as North Callaway also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.

North Callaway's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Abrielle Burgher, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kymorie Myers, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds.

North Callaway pushed their record up to 14-7 with that win, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.0 points per game. As for Fayette, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 14-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Callaway will take on the Indians at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Missouri (Elsberry is ranked 143rd, while the Thunderbirds are ranked 168th). As for Fayette, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Wildcats at 6:00 p.m.
