Basketball Recap: Skyline Prep Open Takes a Loss

Skyline Prep Open was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the Premier Prep- PHHoenix Open Fire Frogs and fell 84-54. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bengals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 95-48 back in November of 2024.

Premier Prep- PHHoenix Open was led to victory by Chris King and Braylon Haman. King went 7 for 9 on his way to 15 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals, while Haman posted nine points in addition to five boards and three steals. Haman is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 18 games he's played.

Skyline Prep Open's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Premier Prep- PHHoenix Open, the win (which was their 16th in a row) raised their record to 19-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Skyline Prep Open will venture away from home to square off against Premier Prep- PHHoenix at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Premier Prep- PHHoenix Open, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Eduprize Open at 7:00 p.m. on January 21st.
