Basketball Game Preview: Victoria West Warriors vs. Fort Bend Kempner Cougars

The Victoria West Warriors will head out to face off against the Fort Bend Kempner Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Friday, Victoria West earned a 46-37 victory over Lamar Consolidated.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Fort Bend Kempner, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They took down Victoria East 60-45 on Friday.

Victoria West better focus on containing Isaiah Washington and Landen Parker as the pair were huge in Fort Bend Kempner's win. Washington posted 12 points and seven boards, while Parker almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds. That's the most boards Parker has posted since back in November of 2024. Tyler Haynes was another key player, putting up six points.

Fort Bend Kempner smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 24 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in four consecutive games.

Fort Bend Kempner is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.8 points per game. As for Victoria West, their record is now 11-12.
