Baseball Recap: Central Christian Takes a Loss

Central Christian lost against Pensacola Christian Academy back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Central Christian fell 6-3 to Pensacola Christian Academy. The Saints have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Peyton Bond put in work no matter where he played. He tossed seven innings while giving up four earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits. Bond was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

In other batting news, Beckett Simpson made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Central Christian's record is now 3-5. As for Pensacola Christian Academy, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Central Christian will take on Santa Rosa Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Pensacola Christian Academy, they will challenge Aletheia Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Pensacola Christian Academy's pitchers better be ready for this one: Aletheia Christian Academy has averaged an impressive 7.3 runs per game this season.
