Basketball Recap: Immaculate Conception Academy Takes a Loss

Immaculate Conception Academy was the 45-41 winner over Kootenai Community Church when they last played one another back in January of 2020, but their luck changed this time around. The Immaculate Conception Academy Cristeros might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Kootenai Community Church an easy 77-57 victory. The Cristeros were down 58-35 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Despite the loss, Immaculate Conception Academy still got an impressive performance from Dominic Wilhelm, who went 13 for 24 on his way to 33 points in addition to seven boards and six steals. The game was Wilhelm's eighth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Philip Schmitt, who posted seven points and three steals.

Even though they lost, Immaculate Conception Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in five consecutive matchups.

Immaculate Conception Academy now has a losing record at 2-3.

Immaculate Conception Academy and Flathead Valley will round out the year against one another at at 10:30 a.m. on December 27th. Immaculate Conception Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61.6 points per game this season. As for Kootenai Community Church, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Immaculate Conception Academy at 6:00 p.m. on February 3, 2025.
