Softball Recap: Steelville Sets Scoring Season-High Against Bourbon

Steelville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 12-4 to the Bourbon War Hawks. On the bright side, the four- run effort marked the Cardinals' highest-scoring contest to date.

Steelville saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was GracieMae Boone, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 3-for-4. Those stolen bases marked the first that Boone snagged this season. Another was Marley Eilert, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Steelville's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Bourbon, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Steelville will face off against Dixon at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Cardinals are facing the Bulldogs at the right time seeing as the Bulldogs are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Bourbon, they will venture away from home to square off against Kingston at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
