Cloverleaf kicked off their season on the road on Monday and hit a couple of potholes. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Canton South Wildcats.
For Canton South's part, not much got past Ashton Pierson, who gave up just one hit and racked up eight Ks to keep Cloverleaf off the board.
At the plate, Grady Cordes was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cloverleaf will take on Springfield at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cloverleaf will be looking to keep their seven-game home win streak dating back to last season alive. Canton South will take on Carrollton at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday.
