Baseball Game Preview: Mercer Island Islanders vs. Glacier Peak Grizzlies

The Mercer Island Islanders will challenge the Glacier Peak Grizzlies at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Mercer Island came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 9-1 to O'Dea.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Glacier Peak). They blew past Cascade 12-1 on Wednesday. The win continues a trend for the Grizzlies in their matchups with the Bruins: they've now won three in a row.

Glacier Peak's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-11. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.7 runs over those games. As for Mercer Island, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season.

Mercer Island took their victory against Glacier Peak in their previous matchup back in April of 2019 by a conclusive 16-0 score. Do the Islanders have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Grizzlies turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
