Baseball Game Preview: Hammon Warriors vs. Sweetwater Bulldogs

The Hammon Warriors will take on the Sweetwater Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Hammon's pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so Sweetwater's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Hammon's offense. They lost 8-0 to Amber-Pocasset on Thursday. The Warriors' loss signaled the end of their undefeated season.

Sweetwater never got on the board in their matchup two weeks ago, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Erick last Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Bearcats with a sharp 15-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won eight games by eight runs or more so far this season.

Sweetwater has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games. Having lost for the first time this season, Hammon fell to 3-1.

Hammon took their victory against Sweetwater in their previous matchup back in August of 2024 by a conclusive 22-4. Does Hammon have another victory up their sleeve, or will Sweetwater turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
