Softball Recap: Silas Wins Going Away Against Lakes

Silas had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 11-run drubbing they dealt Lakes on Tuesday. The Rams put the hurt on the Lancers with a sharp 18-7 victory. Considering the Rams have won five games by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Natalie Medalia made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She pitched 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Medalia was even better at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, Claire Walsh and Tatum Butterfield did most of the damage at the plate: Walsh went 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI, while Butterfield got on base in three of her five plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs. Those three stolen bases gave Butterfield a new career-high. Kaydence Griffith was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

Silas was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .455. They are 4-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Silas' record now sits at 6-4. As for Lakes, they dropped their record down to 1-8 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Silas didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 7-1 defeat against Peninsula on the 17th. As for Lakes, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 9-7 loss against Lincoln on the 17th.
