Basketball Recap: Mount Airy Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Mount Airy Christian Academy lost against Greater Grace Christian Academy on February 6th, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Mount Airy Christian Academy lost 50-29 to the Greater Grace Christian Academy Eagles. While losing is never fun, Mount Airy Christian Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 129th, while Greater Grace Christian Academy is ranked 30th).

Despite the loss, Mount Airy Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Caroline Apolenis went 5-for-10 en route to 18 points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Witter, who posted six points and six boards.

Mount Airy Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 13-10. As for Greater Grace Christian Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-2 record this season.

As of now, neither Mount Airy Christian Academy nor Greater Grace Christian Academy have any future games scheduled.
