Recap: Buford Yellowjackets vs. Chesterfield Golden Rams
The Buford Yellowjackets's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. Their tough 47-24 defeat to Chesterfield might stick with them for a while. Buford has struggled against Chesterfield recently, as their contest on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Leading Chesterfield to victory were Terrahjah Robinson and Kierra Diggs. Robinson scored 15 points along with seven steals and five rebounds, while Diggs scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and six steals. Diggs has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaeda Johnson, who scored eight points along with four steals.
Buford's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 3-10. As for Chesterfield, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 14-3.
Buford will head out on the road to challenge Cheraw at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cheraw is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak. As for Chesterfield, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Andrew Jackson at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Andrew Jackson is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
