Softball Game Preview: Thomas Jefferson Science & Technology Colonials vs. Falls Church Jaguars

Thomas Jefferson Science & Technology hasn't had much luck against Falls Church recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 6:00 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Tuesday.

Thomas Jefferson Science & Technology barely beat Annandale the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Colonials' pitchers stepped up to hand the Atoms a 7-0 shutout last Tuesday. Considering the Colonials have won five matchups by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Falls Church). Everything went their way against Justice last Thursday as they made off with a 20-7 win. The Jaguars not only won last Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since May 9, 2024 (when they won 15-1).

Thomas Jefferson Science & Technology is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.8 runs over those games. Falls Church's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-7.

Everything went Thomas Jefferson Science & Technology's way against Falls Church in their previous meeting back in March, as Thomas Jefferson Science & Technology made off with a 16-5 victory.
