Football Recap: Hopewell-Loudon Takes a Loss

Hopewell-Loudon and Kirtland squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Hopewell-Loudon had to settle for second. They took a blow against the Hornets, falling 41-6. The game marked the Chieftains' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

John Silvestro produced another solid performance rushing for 255 yards and four scores while picking up 13.4 yards per carry for Kirtland. That's the most rushing yards Silvestro has posted since back in October. Kirtland also got a significant boost from Jake Laverde, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 112 yards.

Hopewell-Loudon moved to 13-2 with that loss, which also ended their seven-game winning streak. As for Kirtland, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 15-0.
