Softball Recap: Farmville Central Has No Trouble Against North Pitt

Farmville Central got themselves on the board against North Pitt on Tuesday, but North Pitt never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 15-0 win. The Jaguars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matchups by six runs or more this season.

Corri Houston made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over four innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one walk in 16 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, earning one run and two stolen bases.

In other batting news, Michele Wirth was a standout: she got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. She has been hot for a while, having posted at least one stolen base the last ten times she's played. Another player making a difference was Callie Mitchell, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

Farmville Central hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in three consecutive games.

Farmville Central pushed their record up to 15-4 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for North Pitt, they are on a 13-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-19.
