The Mount Horeb Vikings will head out on the road to challenge the McFarland Spartans at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Mount Horeb is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.
Mount Horeb is headed out in good spirits considering the team just ended their winless streak on the road against Sauk Prairie on Tuesday. The Vikings put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 18-3 win. The victory continues a trend for the Vikings in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won nine in a row.
Jayse Holman made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing four innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits. Holman was even better at the plate, firing off two home runs and six RBI while going 2-for-2. She also put up two runs, which were her first of the season.
In other batting news, Mount Horeb got a massive performance out of Hallie Klein, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Ellie Larson was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 4-for-4.
