Baseball Recap: Los Altos Has No Trouble Against Pioneer

Los Altos got themselves on the board against Pioneer on Friday, but Pioneer never followed suit. They blew past the Mustangs 6-0. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won three contests by six runs or more so far this season.

The result came thanks to Aaron Baum's shutout, as he gave up just four hits and racked up ten Ks. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Darrion Wesley, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Kai MacQuiddy, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one double.

Los Altos was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .357 or higher in three consecutive matchups.

Los Altos' win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Pioneer, they dropped their record down to 3-4 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Los Altos has already played their next game, a 9-5 defeat against Los Gatos on the 26th. As for Pioneer, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 4-3 victory against Willow Glen on the 26th.
