Basketball Recap: Tekonsha Indians vs. Jackson Christian Royals
Tekonsha was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They had to suffer through a 63-33 loss at the hands of the Jackson Christian Royals. The Indians were down 48-23 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.
Tekonsha's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Emily Rizo, who posted six points and seven boards. Another player making a difference was Reagan Henry, who had seven points in addition to six rebounds and five blocks.
Jackson Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Rennie Huff, who dropped a double-double with 19 points and ten boards. What's more, Huff racked up eight steals, the most she's had since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Boll, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and ten rebounds.
Tekonsha's loss dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Jackson Christian, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tekonsha will square off against Burr Oak at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Jackson Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Camden-Frontier at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
