Flag Football Recap: Desert Sunrise Takes a Loss

The Desert Sunrise Golden Hawks ended up a good deal behind the Dysart Demons on Tuesday and lost 28-12. The Golden Hawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Dysart got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Yen Doan out in front who picked up 75 receiving yards and one touchdown, and also rushed for 80 yards on only six carries. Doan didn't just play on offense: she also made six total tackles and defended one pass in addition to snagging four interceptions which she returned one-yard for a touchdown. Dysart also got help from Jada Knox Baldwin, who showed off her sure hands for 140 receiving yards.

Desert Sunrise's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Dysart, their win bumped their record up to 2-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Desert Sunrise will take on ALA - Queen Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Dysart, they will challenge Eastmark at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Firebirds will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Demons surely won't give up without a fight.
