Basketball Recap: Tahlequah Tigers vs. Memorial Chargers

Tahlequah was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 65-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Memorial Chargers. The Tigers were up 21-7 in the first quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

Jayelynn Doan was a one-woman wrecking crew for Memorial as she went 9 of 13 from beyond the arc en route to 30 points. Those 30 points gave Doan a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Trinity Germany, who posted eight points in addition to nine assists and eight boards.

Tahlequah now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Memorial, their victory ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-6.

Tahlequah will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Pryor at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. As for Memorial, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 63-54 loss against Cascia Hall on the 20th.
