While Normal West's win against Bloomington wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Wildcats narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Purple Raiders 51-49. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 122nd, while the Purple Raiders are ranked 376th) , the result on Monday wasn't entirely unexpected.

The win made it two in a row for Normal West and bumps their season record up to 11-5. As for Bloomington, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season.

Normal West has already played their next matchup, a 38-30 victory against Plainfield North on the 29th. As for Bloomington, they will face off against Sacred Heart-Griffin at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
