Baseball Game Preview: West Fork Warhawks vs. Newman Catholic Knights

West Fork is 1-9 against Newman Catholic since July of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Warhawks will head out to challenge the Knights. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

If West Fork beats Newman Catholic with 11 runs on Monday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two matchups with that exact score. The Warhawks were the clear victors by an 11-4 margin over Northwood-Kensett on Friday. The victory was nothing new for the Warhawks as they're now sitting on four straight.

Meanwhile, Newman Catholic waltzed into their game on Friday with four straight wins... but they left with five. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Huskies a 12-0 shutout.

Newman Catholic's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-5. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for West Fork, their win bumped their record up to 8-6.
