Meanwhile, Gilroy came tearing into Tuesday's match with three straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Bulldogs by a score of 10-5. That's two games straight that the Mustangs have won by exactly five runs.
Ariela Yslava was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going 3-for-5 with three RBI and two runs.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Andrea Alvarez, who went 3-for-5 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Averi Peters, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Gilroy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ann Sobrato only managed ten hits.
Gilroy pushed their record up to 16-6 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Santa Teresa, their loss dropped their record down to 6-16.
