Baseball Recap: Lick-Wilmerding Find Success

While Lick-Wilmerding's win against Urban wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Tigers narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Blues 7-6. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Lick-Wilmerding let Braden Pollock and Kian Perrone run wild. Pollock scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances, while Perrone scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave Perrone a new career-high.

Lick-Wilmerding was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive matches.

Lick-Wilmerding's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-5. As for Urban, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-6.

Lick-Wilmerding will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Blues: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
