Soccer Recap: Jackson Gets Big Win over Higher-Ranked Morgan County

Jackson kept a clean sheet against Morgan County on Tuesday. They skirted past the Morgan County Bulldogs 1-0. The win was all the more spectacular given the Red Devils' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 271st, while the Bulldogs are ranked 101st).

Jackson's one-goal win came courtesy of Jaydan Ramos DaSilva, who's now up to three this season.

Jackson now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Morgan County, they moved to 6-2 with that defeat, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jackson will take on Strong Rock Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Strong Rock Christian's defense has only allowed 0.4 goals per game this season, so Jackson's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Morgan County, they will challenge Rutland at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Morgan County will be up against Rutland's rather soft defense (which has allowed 5.22 goals per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
