 El Camino is 1-9 against Christian Brothers since April of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit  on Monday. The El Camino Eagles will head out on the road to  square off against  the Christian Brothers Falcons at 4:30  p.m. One thing working in El Camino's favor is that they have posted big  run totals  in their last three games.
 Last Friday, El Camino got the win against Sacramento  by a conclusive  15-8.
  Max Powers made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out seven batters over  3.2 innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit (and not a single walk). Powers has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't  given up  more than one  walk in three consecutive pitching appearances. Powers was also big at the plate,  scoring four  runs and  stealing two bases while  getting on base  in three of his five plate appearances.
 In other batting news,  Charlie Snyder was  incredible,  getting on base  in four of his five plate appearances with two  stolen bases, five  RBI,  and a  triple. He has been hot recently, having posted  at least one  stolen base the last three times he's  played.  Sebastian Stecca was another key contributor,  scoring two  runs while going 2-for-3.
 Meanwhile,  after a string of seven wins, Christian Brothers' good fortune finally ran out  on Wednesday. They took  a  6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of River City.
  Isaac Holland was a  force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he  struck out 11 batters over  five innings while giving up just two earned  (and three unearned) runs off   five  hits (and only one walk).
 On the hitting side, Christian Brothers saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Talan Field, who  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 1-for-3.
 Even though they lost, Christian Brothers  didn't let batters stay on the plate for long and  finished the game with 15  strikeouts. That's the most  strikeouts they've managed all season.
 El Camino's victory bumped their record up to 13-9. As for Christian Brothers, they now  have a losing record at 10-11.
 The batters for both teams will have to hit smart  on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. El Camino has been retiring batters left and right this season,  having  averaged 7.9  strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Christian Brothers struggles in that department as   they've been averaging 7.7. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
 El Camino might still be hurting after the  10-0 loss they got from Christian Brothers  when the teams last played  back in April of 2023. Can El Camino avenge their  defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
