A feisty cat fight will be fought as Central Jaguars take on Aletheia Christian Academy Lions at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Central will be coming into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.
On Thursday, Central got the win against Flomaton by a conclusive 11-3. The result was nothing new for the Jaguars, who have now won five games by seven runs or more so far this season.
Brock Schmidt made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-5.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Carson Baxley, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Bryce Bowers, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.
Central kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in March of 2024.

He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one stolen base. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March of 2024.
In other batting news, Aletheia Christian Academy let Tanner Brock and Gabriel Toro run wild. Brock scored three runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3, while Toro scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-4. The dominant performance gave Toro a new career-high in stolen bases.
Central's victory was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-0. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Aletheia Christian Academy, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
