Basketball Recap: Hillsboro Beats Greenville for Their Third Straight Victory

Hillsboro waltzed into their game on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Everything went their way against the Greenville Comets as they made off with a 69-45 win. With that victory, the Hiltoppers brought their scoring average up to 50.1 points per game.

Hillsboro's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kearstynn Davis, who dropped a double-double with 19 points and ten rebounds. Those 19 points gave Davis a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Amya Greenwood, who went 7-for-10 to rack up 17 points and three steals.

Hillsboro's win bumped their record up to 19-9. As for Greenville, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-19 record this season.

Hillsboro didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 52-48 loss against Carlinville on the 13th. As for Greenville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 65-41 victory against Lincolnwood on the 11th.
