Basketball Game Preview: Rustin vs. Clinton School

Rustin will venture away from home to face off against Clinton School at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Clinton School took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Rustin, who comes in off a win.

Last Friday, Rustin strolled past Environmental with points to spare, taking the game 40-26.

Clinton School has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a 43-33 hit to the loss column at the hands of Academy of American Studies on Friday. The match marked Clinton School's lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Rustin will have to keep a close watch on Alessandra Stotz and Kate Stanley, a pair of players who had a big impact on Clinton School's prior game. Stotz posted eight points and 17 boards, while Stanley earned 16 points. Stotz is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: she's pulled down at least ten every time she's taken the court this season. Ivy Visser was another key player, putting up four points and eight boards.

Even though they lost, Clinton School smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in 17 consecutive contests.

Rustin now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Clinton School, their loss dropped their record down to 11-6.
