Basketball Recap: Westview Piles Up the Points Against Elkhorn North

Westview entered their tilt with Elkhorn North on Thursday with two consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with three. They breezed past Elkhorn North to the tune of 70-35. Given the Wolverines' advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 18th, while Elkhorn North are ranked 61st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Westview to victory, but perhaps none more so than Stella Williams, who went 5-for-9 on her way to 13 points. Williams is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as she's posted one of at least 56% in the last three games she's played. Marion Henderson was another key player, going 5-for-7 to rack up 13 points.

Westview was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Elkhorn North only posted six assists.

Despite the loss, Elkhorn North saw an underclassman step up: freshman Payton Palmer posted four points and seven boards.

Westview pushed their record up to 17-2 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.9 points over those games. As for Elkhorn North, they now have a losing record of 8-9.
