Preview: Strawberry Crest Chargers vs. Gaither Cowboys
Strawberry Crest has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Gaither Cowboys at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Tuesday, Strawberry Crest beat the Indians 26-19. The win was just what Strawberry Crest needed coming off of a 56-16 defeat in their prior contest.
Strawberry Crest's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jenna Tia led the charge by scoring ten points. Elektra Ribot was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
In what's become a running theme this season, Gaither gave their fans yet another huge win on Wednesday. They claimed a resounding 41-14 win over Newsome at home. Winning may never get old, but Gaither sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
Strawberry Crest's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-11. As for Gaither, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-10 record this season.
Strawberry Crest came up short against the Cowboys in their previous matchup back in January of 2023, falling 30-25. Can Strawberry Crest avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
