Volleyball Recap: Orcutt Academy's Winning Streak Snapped at Eight Games

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Orcutt Academy can now relate to. They lost 3-0 to the Roosevelt Rough Riders on Tuesday. The Spartans' loss signaled the end of their eight-game winning streak.

While Orcutt Academy was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-19, 25-17.

Charlie Stewart paced Orcutt Academy's offense, picking up nine kills. Stewart got some help from Miles Frantz and his 22 assists. Frantz was also solid from the service line: he led the team with four aces.

Orcutt Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 25-6. As for Roosevelt, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-17 record this season.

Orcutt Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Roosevelt, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Nipomo on the 15th.
